    RSS: plain text RSS feeds

    Hi list...

Thanks for the previous answers to my RSS question.  I now have a question about finding some quality content plain text RSS feeds.

I have two crawls, each populated with an RSS feed from feedzilla.  These are plain text feeds that I noticed weren't running anymore.  It turns out that the XML formatting has an error in it (actually all of them from feedzilla), so the RSS isn't parsing through Visix.

    Example: http://www.feedzilla.com/rss/top-news/usa

You can see that whitespace not being allowed breaks up the xml if you try to view it in the browser.  I am first wondering if there's a way to overcome this issue.  If not, I'm trying to find other *good* RSS feeds that are plain text.  It seems the vast majority of them feature html formatted content in their description tags.

    thanks,
    - Mike

    Hi Michael,

Is there a reason why you don't want to use html-formatted rss feeds? Because for the axistv rss crawl adapter it doesn't really matter whether you are using plain text or html fornatted rss feeds. The rss crawl adapter should be able to just present you with plain text from the description tags. Try to use the following cnn rss html-formatted feed: http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss and use the news ticker in AxisTV to create a rss crawl. You will see, you'll get the same result as using plain text formated rss feed.

    Thank you,
