    Sudden Powerpoint error

We've been successfully able to upload Powerpoint content up until yesterday. We are on 7.0.17, Powerpoint 2007 is on the Content Server, and haven't had problems. Suddenly, when trying to upload a 2003 or 2007 ppt, we're getting the following error:

    Re: Sudden Powerpoint error

    Hi there,

We've seen a couple of instances of this. We have not been able to duplicate the issue and are still investigating. The workaround is to un-install PowerPoint 2007 and install PowerPoint 2003 in the Content Server. For end users with PowerPoint 2007, if they want to upload a PowerPoint file they just need to save the file as a PowerPoint 2003 (.ppt) and upload it in AxisTV.

    Thank you,

After we got the error, we did downgrade back to Powerpoint 2003. Is this fixed in the newest version (7.0.20)? We are getting ready to go ahead and upgrade everyone to that version, and I'd like to get back to Powerpoint 2007 if it's going to work properly.

    Re: Sudden Powerpoint error

This is a Microsoft software issue regarding exporting from PowerPoint, not an AxisTV software issue, and therefore nothing that Visix can “fix”.  Visix is continuing to investigate it, but there isn’t much data to go on at this time.  The work-around solution of removing PowerPoint 2007 and installing PowerPoint 2003 on the AxisTV Content Manager continues to resolve the issue as it arises.  If new or additional information becomes available from Visix, it will be posted on this forum.  If anyone else can shed new light on this issue, we welcome your comments.

    Thanks!
